Infectious diseases pose a serious threat to people’s lives and health, and it is particularly important to respond quickly to public health emergencies such as sudden epidemics. This paper takes the inpatient department project of a hospital as an example, using two parallel outdoor air units, one large and one small. The small air volume outdoor air unit is responsible for the peacetime operating conditions, while the large air volume outdoor air unit is responsible for the epidemic operating conditions. This design scheme for dual-mode operation, combined with peacetime and epidemic period, allows for rapid switching of operating conditions while maintaining low energy consumption during peacetime operation. In addition, air distribution simulation is conducted for the negative pressure ward to verify that the design conditions can meet indoor thermal comfort requirements, providing a reference for the design of other similar projects.
